Port of Occoquan Initiative

The Port of Occoquan today is sadly neglected. There are no public or transient faciltiies for boats over about 17 feet in length. Boaters and Yachts that could visit Occoqan to visit shops and restaurants are denied a means of doing so.

Contrast the way Occoquan looks today (above) and how it looked in the early 1990's (below). Look at what is coming at Belmont Bay and National Harbor (also see their website). Occoquan could be a unique historical port town again.

Port of Occoquan - Town Dock Progress Report

ORMA took the initiative to work with the Town of Occoquan in supporting their plan to build a town dock starting in 1999. The town now has received a grant that will support the first phase of building and should permit construction of a 100-foot first section of dock connected to the town park. Recreational boaters are encouraged to send a letter of support for this project to the Occoquan Town Council via Mayor Patricia Conway at the following address or by e-mail to:Mayor Conway at Z3521@aol.com.
